Once upon a time, there was a Gemini, whose name was Jingying Li

Several gems were discovered recently to have more brilliance and fire than Diamond. Yet, Diamond is still the hardest rock on this planet.

Just a Thought

Last night a thought just poped in my head, "WHY AREN'T THERE ANY CAPTION FOR MOVIE IN THEATHERS?" You might say that because everyone goto the movie can hear, so there is no point for caption. But how do we know mute or deaf people do not want to go to theaters. They have the right to enjoy BIG SCREEN too!. I'll say the only reason prevent them to goto a movie theather is because THERE IS NO CAPTION for movies!

Although they can not hear, I am sure they want to experience the feeling in front of a big screen and feel the rhythm and shivering brought by the loud Dolby 7.1 speakers and subwoofer.

Even for ppl who are not deaf, sometimes there are words you just can't understand due to actor's accent or simplily missed while you're whispering with your friends. Caption will help audiences follow the story.

So movie makers start putting captions below the images of film from now on. Maybe you will find the box office will do a little better than now!!!!!!!!!

Review for The Memoirs of A Geisha : A+

I absolutely love this movie, definately give it an A+. However sometimes I just wonder what if the character of Sayuri is replaced by the famous japanese actress Koyuki (play the role of Taka in The Last Samurai)

I mean don't get me wrong here, I like Ziyi Zhang, but she is Chinese and maybe in Western eyes there are no different between Chinese and Japanese, but as Chinese American, I can easily seem Sayuri not behave like a true Japanese woman.

Instead, Suzuka Ohgo (the young Sayuri or Chiyo)did an awsome job in the movie. The girl was totally cute in the film. I feel she is the true star in the film and when she nods, she noded like a true Japanese, which she is. However once Sayuri is grown up, she is replaced by the Chinese Ziyi and it just felt weird.

I would rather see Koyuki plays the role of grown Sayuri. She is a good actress and did a good job playing Taka in The Last Samurai, whose husband was killed by Nathan Algren (play be Tome Cruise) and later took care Nathan for years when he lived at Samurai's Village.

However, disregard Koyuki's fame in Japan, she is not as familiar to the American audience as Ziyi Zhang. On the other hand, who would become famous if she doesn't get enought exposures on Hollywood films. I think Directors should give her more chances in movies to let audience get to know her better. Maybe one day,she will be favored by the American audiences as much as Ziyi Zhang, Gong Li and Michelle Yeoh did!
